OK, you’re hosting a BBQ on Sunday, there’s a lot to do but you still want to look fabulous, you want your friends to think, “How does she do it, all this work and she still looks gorgeous?” You want their eyes to be as green as the salad. So the word of the week is “VELCRO”.
Velcro rollers come in many sizes from small finger sized ones to those the size of Coke cans. They are extrememly easy to use and can look great in a film clip (re: Beyonce Knowles). So here is your step by step guide for the big day.
- Wash your hair first thing in the morning.
- Get coffee.
- Get your man out of the bed and set him to work.
- Put some mousse or gel in towel dried hair and comb it through to get an even consistancy.
- Take sections of your hair about the same size as the roller you are using remembering that the bigger the roller, the looser the curl or wave. Put it in at the base of the section near the scalp and slide it down the hair to the ends. this will smooth out the hair and make sure the ends don’t hook. Roll up gently so it’s not too tight as this will increase the drying time and when you get to the scalp, give it a little wiggle to secure it in place.
- If you want your hair off your face roll them towards the back going horizontally through the top and vertically through the sides (re: Beyonce’s filmclip). Leave them in to dry for at least an hour.
- Check on the man help.
- Get dressed and put on make-up.
- Again, check to see that he’s not slacking and send him to shower.
- Get wine for yourself and head to the kitchen.
- Once everythingis prepared, refill your wine glass and head for the mirror, your hair should be dry by now.
- Gently unroll the hair, dont pull it out as this will pull out too much of the curl. If you want to loosen the curl up a bit, toss your head over and give it a shake with your fingers and a light scrunch. If the curl looks good, spray it, if you want it to drop a bit, spray it in 10 minutes.
- Find the man of the house and re-dress him in something more appropriate, and give him a beer and a pat on the head for all his good work and let him tell you how stunning you look.
- Now all that’s left is to enjoy yourself, leave the dishes till tomorrow, they’re not going anywhere.
