Being a mobile Hairdresser I’m often out and about going from one appointment to the next so I get to check out stores on the way and see what’s happening. I also get to see all types of people in my travels and I get to see them at their best, and worst.
Now let me talk about the thong (the ones you wear on your feet not your butt). Most people who know me can tell you that I hate them, it’s just one of my foibles so you’ll never catch me wearing them. That’s not to say I don’t mind others wearing them.
Case in point: I was working on Sunday doing colours in the salon where I rent a chair when this lovely dressed young woman walked past the window. She was wearing a summery pink dress belted at the waist, her hair nicely blowdried and carrying a small purse which would have held no more than a mobile phone, a lipstick and some money. Then I looked down.
Thongs.
But not just any thongs. They were white, the emphasis being on were. Now if you can take the time and effort to look as great as she did, why would you then go and spoil it with an old pair of thongs or at least give them a wash? Call me old fashioned but sandals may have worked a bit better. Luckily with winter on the way we may see less of the thong, I hope.
